Tasks of a DVD Player
DVD players are devices that can play digital discs under DVD video and audio formats. DVD stands for “digital video disc” or “digital versatile disc”, and it is an optical disc that is mainly used for video and data storage. DVD players’ popularity has increased tremendously since it was invented in 1994. Some shops and online stores have discount DVD players for people who are in a tight budget but still want the luxury of having a good home entertainment system.
A typical DVD player has to complete certain tasks, depending on what kind of DVD is inserted. It has to read the DVD disc in ISO and optionally decrypt the data. It has to read and obey the regional lockout codes and determine if the player is not authorized to play the DVD. It also has to decode MPEG-2 video stream and certain audio formats.
