portable marine GPS

Mariners and anglers depend a lot on a GPS system. An angler, for example will want to mark the exact location of the most productive fishing holes. A GPS unit designed for fishing will have lots of memory to be able to do this. Some of these units will already have some great fishing information included in their software. It can provide information on water-depth, contours and the kinds of hatches that take place.

You can choose from several portable marine GPS units available in the market. There are brands that comes with waterproof (and dustproof) case can even be submerged in water, which bodes well for the angler who gets over-excited and clumsy with a fish on the line. Others offer huge memory (a blank 64-megabyte microSD card) which allows you to download more marine maps, lakes, or the area surrounding that wild river you have your eye on. A portable marine GPS receiver is definitely an ideal companion, especially to the fly fisherman.
