Device That Transfers Heat
A heat exchanger is a gadget designed to effectively transfer heat from one medium to another. The media may either be separated by a solid wall, so that they don’t mix, or they could be in direct contact. One good example of a heat exchanger is a car’s radiator where the heat source, which is the hot engine cooling fluid (or water) transfers heat to the air flowing through the radiator.
There are two ways of cleaning heat exchangers. Plate types have to be disassembled and cleaned periodically. On the other hand, tubular heat exchangers are cleaned via methods such as acid cleaning, high-pressure water jet, sandblasting, bullet cleaning, or through the use of drill rods.
